What is Baptism?

Baptism is a believer’s act of obedience to the leadership of the Lord Jesus Christ. When you place your faith in Jesus for salvation, the Bible instructs the church to baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Mt 28:19).

Can you be saved through baptism?

Contrary to what some people think, the Bible shares that salvation comes by faith in Jesus Christ alone (Rom 10:9). We cannot be saved by works of our own, even baptism. (Eph 2:8-9). So then your salvation can only come through faith in Jesus. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Once your faith rests in Jesus, then you need to be baptized.

Why should I be baptized?

The Bible shares that you should be baptized out of obedience to the Lord Jesus. It is called believer’s baptism. Jesus set an example with His baptism and He instructs the church to baptize those who follow Him.
